second world war, soldiers, Athens, Thessaloniki, Deutsche Luftwaffe http://www.cay.agdok.de Unique film footage capturing off-duty Nazi officers in Greece, in the 1940s. Shot by a German officer on 8mm, the film shows segments of the life of a group of German soldiers in Athens. We follow their daily routine and witness how they spend their leisure time. We see them strolling in the city, going swimming, sunbathing, visiting the Acropolis, and, in the night, after some drinks, singing and dancing. The film also documents life in the buzzing streets of Athens and Thessaloniki. We see rare shots, some of them in colour, of these two cities, busy with street vendors, professionals and overcrowded cafes, buses and trams. A rare and unique piece of WWII history. [No audio]

The technical quality of the downloaded film is better than the quality of the preview.
